I have been playing around with quilt patterns, trying to dissect them and then construct a Zentangle pattern from them.  This is the latest one I have been working on.  I call it Kwiltz.   I don't know if anyone has used that name yet.  I have included both a step out (using Rick and Maria's new stepout template for CZTs) and a video.

There are quite a few things you can do with this pattern, both in shading and combining with other patterns.  I'd love to see some of the tangleations you  might come up with.

Notice the Paradox I used in the top right tile below.  It brings to mind Margaret Bremner's tutorial on Paradox.  There are so many different ways you could use Paradox in Kwiltz.  Her tutorial on Paradox can be found on her blog.

  1. This looks like a tangleation of Phicops using all straight lines. I love the pinwheel effect you get with shading.

  2. I love your new tangle! Will you be adding a follow bar to your blog? Would love to add it to the blogs I follow!

  3. Joyce- "I did something I didn't intend" That is a perfect expression for this morning's tangle. (and for some decisions I've made in life). The camera work is excellent!
